Malpensa Express was launched in 1999 with the opening of the intercontinental hub called Malpensa 2000. It is a service provided by LeNORD and it is the only railway link between the city and the airport.Every day Malpensa Express connects the center of Milan (Cadorna station) to the Malpensa Intercontinental Airport (Terminal 1, underground floor) with trains travelling every 30 minutes in both directions. Trains leave every hour at 27 and 57 minutes for Malpensa and at 23 and 53 minutes for Milano Cadorna.
Malpensa Express is served by TAF Trains (High-Capacity Trains), built between 1998 and the year 2000, featuring first-class seats only. For this specific service, trains have been equipped with all the TAF typical systems and devices, but they have an ad hoc graphic design and luggage area in between compartments.
