More night trains between Milan and Malpensa this summer!

New journeys to and from the airport, new trains and new fares

More night trains between Milan and Malpensa International Airport: for the summer, from the weekend of 28/29 June, Trenord's Malpensa Express airport connection will offer more evening and night-time journeys. The timetable has also been extended on holidays and the days before: the first train from Milan leaves at 3.27 AM; the last train from Malpensa leaves at 1.50 AM.  

To accommodate summer tourists, the fleet is being updated: the new airport trains, already running on the Milano Cadorna connection, are also entering service on the Malpensa Airport–Milano Centrale line. These trains are high-performance, comfortable and sustainable.

The fares will also change: from 1 August, the cost of the Milan–Malpensa ticket will increase from 13 to 15 euros. Fares between intermediate stations and the airport will be adjusted accordingly. 

Extended service timetable

Milano Cadorna–Malpensa Airport T2 line

On pre-holiday and holiday nights – from Saturday evening to Monday morning – the service timetable is extended. With the addition of ten new journeys, the service on the line is as follows:

• from Milano Cadorna: one train every 30 minutes between 3.27 AM and 00.57 AM, instead of between 4.27 AM and 11.27 PM.
• from Malpensa T2: one train every 30 minutes between 4.20 AM and 1.50 AM, instead of between 5.20 AM and 0.20 AM (or the bus at 1.20).

The airport connection to and from Milano Cadorna has been enhanced for the summer period, from 28 June to 28 September 2025.

Milano Centrale–Milano Porta Garibaldi–Malpensa Airport T2 line

With the addition of six new scheduled journeys, which are running every day from 29 June, the service on the line is as follows:

• from Milano Centrale: one train every 30 minutes from 5.25 AM to 11.25 PM;
• from Malpensa T2: one train every 30 minutes from 5.37 AM to 11.37 PM.

The enhanced service on the airport line to and from Milano Centrale will be maintained after 28 September.

The "Timetable search" function on the malpensaexpress.it website and on the Trenord App has been updated with the timetables of the new journeys and stops.

THE NEW AIRPORT SERVICE FARES

New timetables, new trains, and new fares: starting 1 August, the price of a ticket between Milan and Malpensa will increase from 13 to 15 euros. Fares from other stations directly connected to the airport will also change.

The fare change – which, at 0.31 euros/km, remains lower than similar services in Italy and Europe – will allow for further improvements in service quality.

The change in airport fares will not affect the cost of rail passes and tickets to/from destinations on lines other than Malpensa T1 and T2.
